Kick off your journey with a warm welcome and briefing before we leave Whitby behind. Our first destination takes us high into the North Yorkshire Moors, where we’ll ascend to an impressive 1,408 feet—the views are nothing short of spectacular! As we navigate open moorland and conquer thrilling river crossings, you’ll feel the adrenaline rush of adventure! We’ll settle for the night at a well-equipped campsite, featuring a cozy indoor barn for those rare rainy moments.
Day 2: Discover the Beauty of the Hills!
After a hearty breakfast, we’ll set off, heading west through the charming town of Masham and into the stunning Yorkshire Dales. Enjoy a mix of terrains as we stop at scenic viewpoints and indulge in lunch at a quaint café nestled by a magnificent waterfall. The excitement continues with two exhilarating water crossings, a rocky climb, and a visit to a picturesque lake with a shale beach perfect for a little drive.
At camp, unwind in a valley surrounded by the dales, where playful goats bounce on trampolines (yes, you read that right!). Treat yourself to delicious pre-ordered pizzas and cozy up by the campfire under a starry sky.
Day 3: A Cheesy Start!
This day kicks off with a short drive to the renowned Wensleydale Cheese Factory. Sample a variety of delectable cheeses and browse the delightful gift shop. After satisfying your taste buds, we’ll continue our journey over an ancient Roman bridge spanning one of the UK’s deepest gorges.
As we enter the breathtaking Lake District, we’ll stock up on supplies and fuel before tackling the famous Breast High Road. Our evening campsite is right by the lakes, where you can swim, kayak, or paddleboard if you bring your own gear. or ask us prior to trip and we will bring ours. End the day with a delightful cheese board and red wine, all while watching the sun set behind the hills—what a perfect way to unwind!
Day 4: Embrace the Natural Beauty!
Our final day takes us on a zigzagging route through the Lake District, exploring lesser-known paths and iconic lanes. As we approach our journey’s end, soak in the stunning landscapes of this UNESCO World Heritage National Park. We’ll tackle one of the most legendary driving roads in the UK before tackling our last lane towards the coastline, featuring a thrilling cross-axle section that’s perfect for capturing unforgettable photos.
You’ll leave this adventure not just as fellow travellers but as friends—many previous adventurers have reunited for future trips!
