We offer comprehensive training programs tailored for individuals, 4x4 club members, enthusiasts, 4x4 response teams, emergency services, and Mountain Rescue Teams (MRT). Our offerings include both Basic Training courses and Professional courses designed for those who utilise 4x4 equipment in their workplace and need to be PUWER-compliant
What is PUWER?
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) govern the use of 4x4 vehicles in the workplace. PUWER places responsibilities on businesses and their employees who operate work equipment. This regulation also applies to organisations and the self-employed, regardless of whether they own the equipment.
Courses We Offer:
Introduction to 4x4 Driving, Known as 4x4 Familiarisation
This course is ideal for individuals, groups, and clubs seeking to enhance their skills with our instructors, fostering confidence in basic 4x4 driving techniques and vehicle familiarisation.
Course Highlights:
- Understanding basic 4x4 systems and their functionality
- Recognising vehicle limitations and capabilities
- Safely loading the vehicle
- Vehicle handling techniques
- Navigating slopes, ruts, and ditches
- Managing failed hill climbs
- Basic recovery techniques, including the correct use of straps
- Preparedness for off-road environments and transitioning back to on-road conditions
- Practical driving sessions at our dedicated off-road site
By the end of this course, participants will have acquired valuable knowledge about their vehicle and gained confidence in off-road driving.

Professional Advanced 4x4 Operator Course:
The Advanced 4x4 Operator Course is designed to mitigate occupational hazards associated with operating larger vehicles, particularly those with a high center of gravity, commonly used in off-road situations, emergency scenarios, and adverse weather conditions. This course has been specifically aligned with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER).
