Help Shape Timeless Overland's Next Great Adventure

Eight Days • Mountain Passes • Historic Trails • Wild Camping • True Expedition Travel

Not every expedition begins with a perfectly mapped route.

Some begin with a spirit of exploration.

Our Pyrenees Expedition Recon is a unique opportunity to join Timeless Overland as we develop one of our future flagship European expeditions. Together we'll explore the incredible mountain range that separates France and Spain, discovering remote tracks, spectacular viewpoints, hidden valleys and historic trails while refining the route for future adventures.

Mountain passes may be closed. Forest tracks may become impassable. Weather can change in an instant. We may discover incredible new routes—or find ourselves turning around and searching for another way through.

That's exactly what expedition travel is all about.

If you're looking for a perfectly planned holiday with a minute-by-minute itinerary, this probably isn't the expedition for you.

But if you love exploring the unknown, adapting to changing conditions and being part of something genuinely adventurous, you'll feel right at home.

Every day will be different.

Every challenge becomes part of the story.

Every mile helps shape a future Timeless Overland expedition.

What Is an Expedition Recon?

An Expedition Recon is more than a guided tour.

It's an opportunity to experience genuine exploration while helping us develop one of our future expedition routes.

Although we've carefully researched the Pyrenees and planned an exciting route, real expedition travel is unpredictable. Local conditions, weather, trail closures and mountain access can all influence where the adventure takes us.

Rather than seeing this as a problem, we embrace it.

Together we'll make decisions, explore alternatives and discover places that aren't found in guidebooks.

This is overlanding in its purest form.

The Adventure

Our expedition begins with an overnight ferry from Plymouth to Santander before heading towards the spectacular Pyrenees.

Over the following eight days we'll explore mountain passes, forest tracks, rocky trails, historic villages and some of Europe's finest overland scenery.

We'll cross between Spain and France, tackle a variety of off-road terrain and enjoy evenings around camp sharing stories from the day's adventures.

Every day offers something different.

One morning you may be climbing high into the mountains with panoramic views stretching for miles.

By the afternoon you could be winding through ancient forests before stopping in a traditional mountain village for coffee or lunch.

No two days are ever the same.

Expedition Recon Philosophy

This expedition is about exploration.

We fully expect plans to change.

Mountain weather may force us onto different trails.

Tracks may be blocked.

New opportunities may appear that weren't part of the original plan.

Rather than following a rigid itinerary, we'll adapt together and enjoy whatever the mountains have waiting for us.

Sometimes the unexpected creates the greatest adventures.

Terrain You Can Expect

  • Forest trails
  • Gravel passes
  • Scenic mountain roads

  • Remote off-road sections

Terrain will vary throughout the expedition and conditions can change quickly depending on weather and local access.
