Charity Weekend in Support of Asthma + Lung UK

Join us for a special charity weekend where every penny raised goes to a brilliant cause.
This is a non-profit event, with all profit proceeds supporting Abbie’s fundraising for Asthma + Lung UK, as she prepares to take on the London Marathon 2026.

Abbie’s Story

🏃♀️ Running the London Marathon 2026 for Lung Health

I’m incredibly excited (and a little nervous!) to share that I’ll be running the London Marathon 2026 as part of Team Breath for Asthma + Lung UK 💜

I was diagnosed with asthma at just 8 years old. At the time, I didn’t really understand my condition — but I didunderstand how much it knocked my confidence. I often felt left out, especially during school sports days and PE lessons, and I never imagined I’d one day take on endurance challenges.

Fast forward a few years, and in 2019 I found myself standing at Everest Base Camp, trekking via the breathtaking Gokyo Valley route. That experience changed everything. It sparked a love for the outdoors and inspired me to take better care of my lungs — which is where running came into my life.

From Parkruns to moving to Brontë Country, to joining the incredible Haworth Social Runners (who’ve become like a second family), running is now a huge part of who I am. I run 2–3 times a week, and last year I completed the Yorkshireman Half Marathon, tackling a brutal 1,750m of ascent.

Now, I’ve set my sights on my biggest challenge yet — the London Marathon 2026 — and I’m honoured to be running for Team Breath.

Running with asthma isn’t easy. Every run takes grit, determination, and mental strength. But each one reminds me that asthma doesn’t define my limits — and that alone makes every step worth it.

I’m running for the 5.4 million people in the UK living with asthma. For the kids who feel left out like I once did. And to help fund life-changing research, care, and support.

I’ll be sharing my journey — the highs, the sore legs, and everything in between — and I’d love your support. Whether you donate, attend, or share, every bit helps make a real difference.

What the Charity Weekend Involves

Day One – Green Laning Adventure

We’ll kick off the weekend with a full day of green laning through Yorkshire, following scenic routes as we make our way across the Dales to our campsite for the evening.

That night, the campsite offers toilets and hot showers for a well-earned refresh, followed by an evening BBQ, good food, and great company as we swap stories around the campfire.

Day Two – Off-Road Skills & Adventure

After breakfast at the on-site café, we head out for day two — and this one’s all about fun and learning.

Rather than green laning, we’ll be heading to our exclusive off-road site, used for our driver training and not open to other tour providers.

Here, you’ll have the freedom to:

  • Explore woodland trails at your own leisure

  • Practice off-road driving techniques

  • Tackle ditches, hill climbs, and challenging terrain

  • Take on water crossings (conditions permitting)

Also if you fancy it we’ll be on hand throughout the day to offer guidance, tips, and hands-on support — whether you want to sharpen existing skills or learn something completely new. With also the opportunitys to practice safe recoverys.

This is a relaxed, supportive environment with plenty to enjoy for all experience levels.
