The Overlander's Dream Destination
Some places are visited. Others are experienced. Morocco is one of those places.
For sixteen unforgettable days you'll leave the ordinary behind and venture into one of the world's greatest overland destinations. From the winding passes of the High Atlas Mountains to the endless silence of the Sahara, every day reveals something completely different from the last.
One morning you could be climbing through snow-capped mountain passes. By afternoon you'll be driving remote desert pistes where the only tyre tracks are your own. By evening you'll be sharing stories around a campfire beneath some of the darkest skies on Earth.
This isn't about rushing between tourist attractions.
It's about exploring a country properly.
Travelling the back roads. Meeting local people. Discovering hidden places that most visitors will never experience. Taking the scenic route simply because it's the better adventure.
This is Morocco as it was meant to be explored.
Built by Experience. Refined by Adventure.
Every Timeless Overland expedition is built on years of exploring Morocco.
We've driven thousands of miles across the country to discover the routes worth taking, the camps worth staying in and the places that leave a lasting impression long after you've returned home.
Rather than following busy tourist roads, our expedition combines spectacular off-road driving with authentic cultural experiences, remote campsites and breathtaking scenery.
The result is an expedition that perfectly balances adventure, exploration and comfort.
You'll travel from Northern Morocco through the towering Atlas Mountains, ancient kasbahs, hidden Berber villages, remote desert tracks and vast open landscapes before reaching our southernmost point in Iriki National Park, eventually making the journey north once again.
Every mile has been chosen for a reason.
NO TWO EXPEDITIONS ARE EVER THE SAME
That's the beauty of true overlanding.
Morocco is a country that never stands still. Weather changes mountain passes, rivers rise and fall, and local conditions constantly reshape the journey.
Rather than following a rigid day-by-day itinerary, we adapt our route to make the most of the conditions, ensuring every expedition delivers the very best experience possible.
While the exact route and order of locations may change, every destination advertised will be visited.
Before departure you'll receive a full expedition briefing, and throughout the journey our experienced guides will take care of every detail, allowing you to simply enjoy the adventure.
No fixed schedule. No rushed tourist stops. Just sixteen unforgettable days exploring Morocco the way overland travel was meant to be.
Places You'll Experience
The Sahara Desert
Nothing prepares you for your first evening in the Sahara.
As the sun drops below the dunes, the desert falls silent before thousands of stars appear overhead.
You'll spend the night in a luxury Berber desert camp with comfortable double-bed accommodation before watching sunrise over one of the most iconic landscapes on Earth.
Optional experiences include camel trekking, quad biking and sandboarding across the golden dunes.
Ait Ben Haddou
Step inside one of Morocco's most famous ancient fortified cities.
This UNESCO World Heritage Site has stood for centuries and has featured in productions including Gladiator, The Mummy and Game of Thrones.
Explore its winding alleyways, climb through its historic kasbah and enjoy spectacular views across the surrounding valley.
Todra Gorge
Towering limestone cliffs rise over 500 feet above you while the canyon narrows to just 33 feet wide in places.
Whether you're admiring the scenery or simply enjoying the drive through one of Morocco's most spectacular landscapes, Todra Gorge is guaranteed to be one of the highlights of the expedition.
Atlas Mountains
The Atlas Mountains form the backbone of Morocco.
Remote villages cling to steep mountainsides while winding tracks climb through dramatic valleys, rocky passes and breathtaking scenery.
This is where some of the expedition's most rewarding driving takes place.
Merzouga & Gara Medouar
Standing at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, Merzouga marks the gateway to the Sahara.
Nearby lies Gara Medouar—known as the "Round Mountain"—an extraordinary natural rock formation surrounded by desert tracks and made famous in films including The Mummy.
Together they create one of the most unforgettable sections of the expedition.
Chefchaouen
Hidden within the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is unlike anywhere else in Morocco.
Its famous blue-painted streets, mountain backdrop and relaxed atmosphere make it one of the country's most photographed destinations.
A guided walking tour is included, giving you the chance to discover its history, markets and hidden corners.
Marrakesh
No visit to Morocco would be complete without experiencing Marrakesh.
Lose yourself among colourful souks, historic palaces, bustling market squares and incredible street food while soaking up the atmosphere of one of North Africa's most iconic cities.
It's the perfect finale to an unforgettable adventure.
...and that's only part of the story.
Some of the most memorable moments can't be planned.
A mountain pass you've never heard of.
Tea shared with a Berber family.
A hidden campsite with nobody else for miles.
An unexpected river crossing.
A sunset that stops everyone in their tracks.
Those are the moments you'll remember.
Those are the moments that make a Timeless Overland expedition different.
