Portugal is home to some of the best 4x4 trails in Europe. Join us for the trip of a lifetime travelling across Portugal. From the mountains in the North to the iconic sand trails on the west coast. We offer you this tour, including a stop-off at thermal springs. the centre of Portugal, Knights Templar castles and so much more.
Day 1 / 2:
Leaving the UK via ferry from Portsmouth we aim to travel through the day and first night crossing to either Santander or Bilboa. After a 5-hour drive off the ferry to our first stop off at the Thermal Hot Springs for a dip just north of the Portugal border. The water here is full of good minerals and perfect to refresh after a long ferry and drive. Leaving here we head for the North coast of Portugal with a stop for supplies and our first camp of the tour before hitting the trails the next day.
Day 3:
Starting the day we head off-road, this day is roughly 70% off-road as we make our way towards Porto. These sections of lanes are some of the best we have ever driven until we got the south that is. With views across the towns from high on the mountains through muddy forests and dusty trails there is every sort of terrain you wish for. With a brief stop off to explore the old abandoned Hospital before we make our way down the steep banks towards our camp for the night. This night is a wild camp due to the Location.
Day 4:
Continuing south towards the Centre of Portugal and Tomar we stop for lunch in town and have a few hours to explore around the castle once home to the Knights Templar.
This day is mostly the road to get us south a little quicker. With a much-needed rest for the Vehicles.
Day 5, 6, 7:
Leaving camp we take to the tracks towards Lisbon. Traversing around the city and this is where the sand trails start on the west coast. Before we air down we cross sand and a short beach crossing. Before hitting the long sand trails and dunes. The time of year we go here is the best time to go. As the weather is warm but also the sand hasn't fully dried out yet making it a little easier to drive, During the summer the sand is too soft and you can't get up the dunes.
Day 8:
This day is a rest day but is also planned as a contingency in case of hold-ups earlier on the tour. This day is used for checking vehicles, but also with time to visit the local town and also a trip down to the beach and visit the most south Point you can drive to in Europe with the chance to swim. The route here is via sand trails and an epic drive down onto the beach.
Day 9, 10:
This is our turn and set off in the morning heading back north for either the Santander or back through France if you choose to drive back.

- All-terrain or Mud terrain tyres.
- No low profile tyres or aggressive tread like Insta turbo's.
- Full tank of fuel at start
- Bring Warm clothes as recommended.
- Advised to bring snacks and drinks.
- Camera to capture the Adventure.
- Camping equipment.
- European breakdown cover.

Payment Options: There are a few ways to pay. Either in full at the time of booking, or pay the deposit and either pay the remaining balance or pay in 6 instalments to help spread the cost to which suits you. For instalments, once your deposit is made please contact us to set this up.
